Offering mobile and portable telescopic pole solutions, Bröge – Composite Poles required fresh branding to help them reach new heights.
Composite Poles manufacture high-end mobile and portable telescopic poles, for applications such as aerial photography, fire and security.
They needed to stand out above the competition and market themselves differently, so decided to give themselves a brand name of Bröge – Composite Poles. Bröge would need to stand alone, and be recognised without “Composite Poles”.
The first step was to research into the product. As it is essentially a black telescopic pole, it doesn’t make the best basis for a logo, so we had to look further afield.
We researched into how the product works, how it benefits the user and why they would use Bröge instead of a competitors pole. We delved into conceptual ideas, bold typographic routes, directional symbols, and the animal kingdom, finding viable options in each area.
The final outcome?
After some fettling and tweaking, we settled on a bold, bright giraffe bust. The giraffe was a perfect fit; elegant, smart, tall and naturally benefiting from its height, it went hand-in-hand with what Bröge is about.
We came up with a couple of design options; one silhouette based, the other slightly more cartoon based. With some slight fettling, Bröge decided on their new logo.
Getting the word out
With a national trade show soon approaching, it was the perfect opportunity to launch the brand and get some immediate feedback. We designed the small exhibition scheme for Bröge, which allowed them to demonstrate their product, launch the brand and get selling.
The product and the brand went down very well, and in a highly competitive market held it’s own and really stood out, catching most passers attention.
On the day, Bröge sold over 80 poles, which is a testament to their product, but we also like to think we had a small part in those sales.
