With over 15 years experience, Imagination Creations is a highly successful, well established automotive bodyshop.
Already a well established automotive bodyshop with over 15 years experience, Imagination Creations had been using the same branding for over 10 years. Although they had built up an impressive customer base, and work on an array of different cars, they felt they were being left behind by other bodyshops.
The brief was simple; update the branding but keep the brand colours the same and make sure the company is still recognisable by existing clients, whilst appealing and sending the right message to new customers. We’re talking evolution, not revolution.
A new and updated website was also requested to really bring the new brand to life. As with any small busy small business, time for self promotion is hard to find. With a strong following on Instagram, we were requested to seamlessly integrate Imagination Creations profile into the site; effectively making site updates straight from a phone.
To The Creative Lab!
As with any branding project, we started with the research and explored various routes to give us as much variety as possible. With the research done, it was time to head into the “creative laboratory”. The team sketched out many ideas that fulfilled the brief, and we settled on 5 options that we all felt not only hit the brief, but also suggested very different routes; from modern to retro, and even a typographic acronym option.
The Refinement Process
From the start there was a clear favourite. As per the brief it used the original colour palette, the typography felt recognisable compared to the old logo and the stylish car silhouette meant there was no mistaking the company’s industry.
Time To Go Online
Imagination Creations already had a very basic website that wasn’t cutting it anymore. It wasn’t doing them justice, which is even more compounded by the new branding.
We were asked to create a simple brochure site, that reflected the new branding and gave Imagination Creations a professional look that reflected their work.
Although the site is based on a WordPress platform (the main benefit of which being that users can easily update content) being a busy small business means that Imagination Creations struggles to find time for self promotion. With this in mind it was decided that the best route to keep visitors to the site up-to-date with the latest work was to integrate Imagination Creations well established Instagram account.
By doing this it gives the site the appearance of being regularly updated, but without any manual processes. A perfect solution for a busy business.
I’ve been wanting to update my logo and website for a while now, and having tried out a few other “routes” before, nothing ever hit the mark, so things stayed the same. I felt that LaserLines got what we wanted straight away. I liked that they asked us in depth questions on the business and what the vision is.
